Access & Advocacy
The Access and Advocacy Initiative covers the cost of trained parent advocates to support families as they navigate school systems and special education processes. This includes assistance with IEP development, meetings, and implementation, helping families advocate effectively for accessible, language-rich educational services.
Funds for this initiative may be used to pay for:
Fees for trained parent advocates supporting families navigating school systems
Support related to the Individualized Education Program (IEP) process, including preparation, meetings, and advocacy
Consultation services to help families understand evaluations, reports, and special education documentation
Training and professional development for parent advocates focused on Deaf education and language access
Administrative costs necessary to coordinate advocacy services for families
